Hey there, readers!  Let me give you the rundown on me and this blog 'o mine.

I'm Kelly, 29 years old, Connecticut native and New York resident.  I've been married 5 wonderful years, and I have a completely-freaking-adorable 1-year-old son.  He already seems to have an acute appreciation for the complete unabridged works of Eric Carle, so I must be doing something right.

I started this blog in August 2012 after a long internet blogging history.  From LiveJournal, to MySpace, to Blogger, and Wordpress (and now back to Blogger), I've been around.  However, all of my past blogs have been personal/life blogs, with book posts thrown in.  I started to realize I was pretty tired of talking about myself all the time (spoiler: my life is not that captivating).  Book posts have always been my favorites to write, and hence, The Well-Read Redhead.

I have always been an avid reader.  Most of this behavior traces back to The Babysitters Club series, of which I was a psycho-fan by the ripe old age of 8.  (If you like this blog, send Ann M. Martin a thank you.)  I had all of the books (would buy them as soon as they were released), and I insisted on bringing my entire collection with me whenever my family went on road trips.  Five hour drive to Pennsylvania?  No problem Ma, I have 74 BSC volumes AT THE READY.  For packing purposes, my parents hated this compulsion, but found it difficult to argue with a love of reading.  One of the many reasons why I think reading is a better hobby than, say, cage fighting.

Over the years, my reading habits have never waned (the exception being 4 years of college, during which it was hard to read anything other than textbooks and beer labels).  After college, I reunited with my library card and have been happily devouring books ever since.

When I'm not reading voraciously, I love to travel, scrapbook, run, hike, and snowboard.
